How Finance Star handles personal information when assisting with credit needs.
At Finance Star, privacy is protected in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy summarises how personal information is collected, used, held and disclosed when Finance Star assists with credit needs.
Finance Star may ask for personal information when assisting with finance. This can include sensitive information and information about any vulnerability a client may have. The information is used to advise about and assist with credit needs, and is provided to companies a client chooses to deal with and their representatives.
Information may also be used to send requested product information, manage an ongoing relationship, provide updates by email or post, improve services and help resolve problems.
If full information is not provided, Finance Star may not be able to properly advise or assist with credit needs.
Finance Star works to maintain the reliability, accuracy, completeness and currency of personal information, and to protect its privacy and security. Personal information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or to comply with applicable legal, ethical reporting or document retention requirements.
Information is held electronically, with secure password practices, access limited to those who require it for application purposes, and systems backed up regularly.
Finance Star does not sell, trade or rent personal information. Information may be provided to a credit licensee for administration and supervision activities, contractors who supply services, or other companies in the event of a corporate sale, merger, re-organisation, dissolution or similar event. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or where permitted by the Privacy Act.
Clients may request access to personal information and may ask Finance Star to correct, amend or delete information that is inaccurate. To access or correct personal information, write to the Privacy Officer at enquiry@financestar.com.au.
Questions, concerns or complaints about privacy can also be sent to the Privacy Officer at the same email address. Include as much information as possible so the issue can be reviewed.
By asking Finance Star to assist with credit needs, clients consent to the collection and use of the information provided for the purposes described above.
